Blake Weibert: #NashvilleSingerSongwriterFriends: Blake Weibert: Nashville singer tells us 5 more things about himself

When we write about some of the singer/songwriters we know from our Facebook page, we like to be able to include some that we have met in person, and Blake Weibert is one of those. He hones his craft and plays and sings locally in Nashville as well as in the area where he resides, around Tullahome and Manchester, Tennessee.
Earlier we wrote an article about 'Blake Weibert: 5things about this singer/songwriter' but we couldn't fit all the information on this young man into one space, so now we are finding out more about Blake as he tells us five more things about himself for this article.
The music is the inspiration for this young musician, and with his talent, he has nowhere to go but up, and we can be a witness to it and help him through the purchasing the latest release of a new CD, as we help him climb the ladder of success in the world of music in Nashville.
We think you will enjoy the music of Blake Weibert and we encourage you to check out his music and his new CD. Pre-sales of Blake's new album were going on when this article was first published. This will also help fund the production and promotion of this album. Expected release date is July 1st 2014. To buy go to the following link:

Q. Blake, this is one of the most interesting to some of our readers: Do you have a so-called 'bucket list' and if so, what do you want to do or accomplish?

A. My 'Bucket List' is very similar to my 'American Dream', but it includes mountain biking and camping the Scottish Highlands (I'm 50% Scottish, as Mum was born there), ski the Alps, plus spend a large bit of time in South America.  The list goes on..........

Q. I see you have a new CD in the works, tell us about it and also, how your fans can get a copy?

A. My new CD is to be released sometime in July, with the CD release party to be somewhere in Nashville shortly thereafter.  Nancy, I have been BLESSED with my producer, Tommy Wiggins, Guitarist Larry Haack, Drums/percussion Matt North (teacher to the pros and everybody in between), Engineer Dave Towne, Bassist Mark Golden (The Sixes), Keyboard, Organ, Accordion Billy Livsey(Tina Turner, The Doobie Brothers, Travis Tritt, Conway Twitty, Rodney Crowell, Don Williams, Dolly Parton, Michael McDonald, and so much more, OMG!), George Marenelli (Bonnie Raitt, founding member of Bruce Hornsby and the Range).  I have a pitch linked to my facebook on Indiegogo.com.

Q. Blake, where can we see you in performances in the near future?

A. Nancy, I have some gigs scheduled for Hampshire, TN on May 10, also, July, and September at Keg Springs Winery, London's in Tullahoma on Saturday May 31st, and many more others, but right now, I'm focusing on this album and the promotion thereof.

Q. What is the funniest or oddest thing that ever happened to you onstage or any one incident that is memorable to you in particular?

A. I had a chair thrown at me for putting a heckler in his proper place in Memphis in 1997 when I was onstage, but I had a great support system there and they promptly took him down and barred him from The Daily Planet, where I met Todd Snider, and took over his Thursday night gig when he moved to Nashvegas.  All of the other stories are not fit to print.

Q. Is there anything else you want to add in to today's conversation, Blake? And please let us know where you can find you on the web?

A. . Yes, I just wanted to add that I am grateful for the things that have been happening to me lately.  As a result, it has woken me up to a more positive life, filled with gratitude and love, power of perception, coupled with pragmatic action, and a deep appreciation to those who are "do gooders."  Life is as beautiful as you make it, and it's so beautiful, that it's almost overwhelming. My fiancĂ©, Olivia, has been downright dreamsicle in helping me with everything.  And yes, I do have spirituality. Thank you, Big G!  I can be found on ReverbNation, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and even MySpace, I think, lol!

Blake Weibert: 5 things about this Nashville singer/songwriter #NashvilleSingerSongwriterFriends:

We like to write about some of our many Nashville Singer/Songwriter friends and one of those is the subject of this article and is shown in the above photo, 2nd from right, black shirt.

When we first met musician Blake Weibert it was at one of the Nashville TV show tapings which we attended during season 2 of the show, which is filmed in Nashville. As we all sat at the same table, waiting our turn to appear in one of the show scenes, we became acquainted with Blake Weibert and all of the others who sat at our table, during the breaks from the taping of the show.
With Blake Weibert being a singer and songwriter, we met on common ground, as many of the folks around Nashville who go to be 'Extras' in the Nashville TV show are musicians, singers or songwriters.
Since meeting Blake, we became friends on Facebook and we keep up with his career through his postings on his personal Facebook page and on his 'Blake Weibert Music Page'.
Blake was gracious enough to answer some of our questions for this and one more article about his music career and what his hopes are for his own American dream in the music business.

Q. Blake, tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from originally?

A. Nancy, I was born in West Palm Beach, FL and moved to Manchester, TN at age 7.  Left Manchester at 18 to attend Memphis State University to major in Music.

Q. When did you become interested in a career in music and singing?

A. I knew music was my thing at age 13, when I took an interest in drums, got kicked out of beginning band, and then "got" a drum set, played in hard rock, alternative, and then Blues bands, while learning many different styles of drumming.  I started singing at the age of 22, after deciding to rebel from classical guitar and get away from hauling around a drum set.

Q. What singer(s) or band (or person) was your biggest influence in your early years?  And what singer would you say you sound most like?

A. At first, 'Hard Rock' bands like Rush, AC/DC, Metallica, Slayer, Triumph, Deep Purple, Iron Butterfly, Triumph, The Police, Iron Maiden, and whatever else I may be forgetting. When it came to singing, it was Howlin' Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Bobby Blue Bland, Elmore James, Muddy Waters, Bukka White, but John Hammond inspired me to do the one man Blues thing.  As to who I may sound like? It's hard for me to put a label on that.  You tell me.

Q. What about family? Any of them sing, too, or in the music business?

A. My niece, Emma, an accomplished clarinetist, has her choice of free rides to (insert university of your choice here), and her fraternal twin, Anna, who is an amazing singer, is also a genius level mathematician, who will be attending the University of the South on full gift.

Q. What is your own American dream?

A. My 'American Dream' is to experience ALL of America, and travel the world over, experiencing the natural beauty of this planet, its' people, and the cuisines.  Yeah, I'm a foodie, Can't ya tell?
